Model Coverall Service, Inc. and the Subar Family have been longtime supporters of the West Michigan community.  Max and Marie Subar, who founded Model in 1923, and Jerry and Judy Subar, who helped the company flourish, were and are very generous people who always remembered their roots and chose to help others in many, many ways. The Subar family has always believed in the power of an education.  Max, who only had an 8th-grade education, and was born in Eastern Europe, emphasized education with his children— all three graduated from the University of Michigan….and all 10 of their children also graduated, from Michigan and from two Ivy League schools. In return, the Subar family is a strong supporter of education.  Model and the Jerome P. Subar Foundation support about a dozen universities in Michigan and elsewhere.  One way we support the local community that has supported us for 93 years is by funding scholarships at local universities.
