TEXTILE RENTAL SERVICE IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

MATS HELP YOU EARN LEED CERTIFICATION POINTS

TEXTILE RENTAL SERVICE IS GREEN

Textile reuse reduces solid waste!  Our cloth towels are used many times more than paper towels.

Our highly efficient equipment and procedures allows our laundry process to be more environmentally friendly than washing at home:
  • 64% less water
  • 73% less energy
  • 90% less chemicals

Model is a member of the Industry's environmental stewardship program LaundryESP  that has further improved our eco-friendliness.  According to a study released from Laundry ESP in December 2011, since 1997 we've helped our industry achieve:
  • 24% reduction in CO2 emissions
  • 27% reduction in total energy consumption, including:
    • 26% reduction in natural gas
    • 9% reduction in electricity
    • 75% reduction in fuel oil
    • 81% decline in propane
    • 30% in all hydrocarbon (production) fuels
  • 10.9 trillion BTU reduced
  • 33% reduction in gallons of water

    Model does even more:
  • we recycle over 50% of our hangers
  • we use high efficiency lighting
  • we lowered our thermostat
  • we installed timers and occupancy sensors for lighting
  • we recycle old uniforms by donating them to world missions
  • we recycle old mats by donating them to second-best sales
  • we rerouted our delivery routes to minimize gas usage
  • we use heat from our waste water to help heat up cold incoming city water
  • we use heat from the exhaust of our boilers to further pre-heat incoming city water
  • our Continuous-Batch-Washer reduces water and chemicals by filtering and recycling a portion of the wash water before it drains away

Indoor Chemical and Pollutant Source Control
Intent: to minimize and control pollutant entry into buildings and later cross contamination of regularly occupied area.

"Employ
permanent entryway systems at least six feet long in the primary direction of travel to capture dirt and particulates from entering the building at all entryways that are directly connected to the outdoors.  Acceptable entryway systems include permanently installed grates, grilles, or slotted systems that allow for cleaning underneath.  Roll-out mats are only acceptable when maintained on a weekly basis by a contracted service organization.  Qualifying entryways are those that serve as regular entry points for building users."

(Grand Rapids is "America's Greenest City", with more certified commercial green buildings per capita than any city in the U.S!)
