Textile reuse reduces solid waste!  Our cloth towels are used many times more than paper towels.

    • 26% reduction in natural gas
    • 9% reduction in electricity
    • 75% reduction in fuel oil
    • 81% decline in propane
    • 30% in all hydrocarbon (production) fuels

  • 33% reduction in gallons of water

    Model does even more:
  • we recycle over 50% of our hangers
  • we use high efficiency lighting
  • we lowered our thermostat
  • we installed timers and occupancy sensors for lighting
  • we recycle old uniforms by donating them to world missions
  • we recycle old mats by donating them to second-best sales
  • we rerouted our delivery routes to minimize gas usage
  • we use heat from our waste water to help heat up cold incoming city water
  • we use heat from the exhaust of our boilers to further pre-heat incoming city water
  • our Continuous-Batch-Washer reduces water and chemicals by filtering and recycling a portion of the wash water before it drains away

Intent: to minimize and control pollutant entry into buildings and later cross contamination of regularly occupied area.

permanent entryway systems at least six feet long in the primary direction of travel to capture dirt and particulates from entering the building at all entryways that are directly connected to the outdoors.  Acceptable entryway systems include permanently installed grates, grilles, or slotted systems that allow for cleaning underneath.  Roll-out mats are only acceptable when maintained on a weekly basis by a contracted service organization.  Qualifying entryways are those that serve as regular entry points for building users."
